The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2004 came into effect from 1st January 2005 and applies to all Scottish public authorities including the Scottish Executive and its agencies; The Scottish Parliament; Local Authorities; NHS Scotland; Universities and further education colleges; and the Police.
